Looking for New Year’s Eve events in the Nashville, Tennessee area? The Music City and its surrounding areas are planning to bring in the New Year with a bang! Here are some fun events for the whole family to enjoy:

Church Events

The Daily News Journal’s Church Calendar reports that 180 Degrees Ministries and Journey Pointe will present a New Year’s Eve Worship event for the community at 7 p.m. at 1267 Middle Tennessee Blvd. Admission is free, but a love offering will be taken to benefit 180 Degree Ministries. Countdown to Noon

Join in the Discovery museum’s biggest pajama party! Held at Discovery Center at Murfree Spring, 502 S.E. Broad Street, Murfreesboro on December 31, 2008 from 10:30 a.m.-12 noon. Cost is $5 for non-members ages 2 and up, and free to members. Contact: Discovery Center at Murfree Spring at (615) 890-2300.

General Jackson New Year’s Eve Cruise

Looking for a unique way to ring in the New Year? Join the New Year’s Eve celebration on the Opryland – General Jackson Showboat on December 31, 2008. Your evening begins as you enter the warmth of a glittering two-story Victorian Theater aboard the world’s largest showboat.

New Year’s Eve Parties at Gaylord Opryland

Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center offers four different parties to choose from, including Vegas-style fun, ’70s funky disco dancing, elegant dining, dancing and family-friendly festivities. The Opryland Resort and Convention Center will celebrate the 50th birthday of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss with the Grinch’s frozen mountain top lair, interactive slides and surprises, and the picturesque Who-ville complete with real smoking chimneys and feasting Whos. This is the only show like it in the USA and only at Gaylord Opryland in the Gaslight Theater, adjacent to Opry Plaza.
