The New York Giants have a passionate fanbase year after year. That fanbase is growing these days as the Giants are Super Bowl champions and are one of the favorites to defend their title this year. But one fan that has stood by the Giants for over three decades is Sondra Fortunato, a Toms River fan nicknamed “Ms. Football.” However, Fortunato wasn’t even welcome in the Giants own home stadium last week, which may or may not have to do with her outfit and what it didn’t cover up.
It is a common football fan cliche for die hard lunatics to have their shirts off, even in freezing weather. New York weather in December is typically very cold, which wouldn’t bother their shirtless fans anyway. They usually are allowed to stay unless they get too drunk, but Fortunato was not so fortunate.
Fortunato didn’t have her shirt off during the Giants-Eagles game last week, but her outfit didn’t cover up everything. Especially not her very pronounced chest area. The New York Post reported that Fortunato was escorted from her seat last week, with security asking her why she couldn’t “dress like a normal person.”
Fortunato came to the game wearing fishnets, a tiara, a bathing suit bottom, high heels and a Santa outfit. With her body type, it was easy to see a lot of her.
Fortunato has been a staple for the Giants fanbase for a long time, with her “assets” being a part of her fame. She even has her own website, with various pictures of her and her past appearances in sports games.
But if Fortunato wants to keep cheering on the Giants in person, she may not be allowed to display so much of her body. However, the Giants security insists that Fortunato was escorted because of the signs she was carrying.
She held up two signs saying “Go Giants” and “Have A No Gun Christmas” in her nod to the Plaxico Burress scandal.
Fortunato was arrested briefly in 2006 because her bag and signs were not allowed. The Giants have a no-sign policy, but Fortunato claims that it is often ignored.
Fortunato defended herself by making comparisons between her and Madonna, who she says also shows off a lot despite being middle-aged. She did not give her exact age, however.
It is unclear whether Fortunato will be able to show up to next week’s Giants home game against Carolina, and what outfit she would have to wear. With the Giants losing two straight games and facing the chance of losing the NFC number 1 seed to the Panthers, they may need all the support they can get.
