In the year 2009, Sony Pictures is the leader in the clubhouse. The top grossing movie so far in 2009 belongs to Sony Pictures. Let’s hope that Paul Blart: Mall Cop doesn’t stay number one all year though. It’s going to be tough for Sony Pictures to match the movies the other studios have coming out this year, but here are five movies from Sony Pictures to keep an eye out for in 2009.

Sony Pictures 2009 Preview: Year One
Release Date: June 19th, 2009
I’m probably in the minority here but I look forward to every Jack Black movie and don’t look forward to every Michael Cera movie. But since I’m a glass half full type I’m going to hope that Jack Black can make this a good movie and maybe Michael Cera can find that magic that he lost the day he left the Arrested Development set.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is the latest children’s book that will be brought to the big screen. I’m always skeptical about adaptations of children’s books but I’m intrigued by the prospects of a movie with Bruce Campbell and Mr. T.
