Zatarain’s Creole Seasoning 8oz I’ve lived in Louisiana all my life. Some things are taken for granted here, and Zatarain’s products are one of them. They have been marketed in Louisiana for years but just in recent years have branched out. Now the rest of the country can experience some of our Cajun and Creole flavors. Zatarain’s Creole Seasoning is a seasoning blend that I always have on hand and use it almost daily.
Zatarain’s Creole Seasoning
Zatarain’s is a New Orleans based company that produces foods, seasonings and mixes that bring a “taste of New Orleans” to you. Their advertising slogan is, “A New Orleans Tradition Since 1889”.

My Experience with Zatarain’s Creole Seasoning
I have used Zatarain’s Creole Seasoning since I first learned to cook as a teenager. My mom used this seasoning blend on rare occasions. I love foods that are full of flavor and a bit on the spicy side. When I got married, I started using this seasoning on a regular basis. I love the way it seasons meats. It works well on chicken, pork or beef. It also gives a punch to a spaghetti sauce with the unique blend of spices. Just add a teaspoon to your other spices you put in your homemade sauce for a bit of a twang.
I also use this seasoning in making a roux for gumbo, in jambalaya, frying fish, and even when making a brown gravy. I think food would be boring now if always prepared with just salt and pepper.
Zatarain’s Creole Seasoning is on the spicy side but not blaring or flaming hot. It doesn’t make your food so hot you can’t eat it. It does contain cayenne pepper but if you use this sparingly like you normally use spices and seasonings, your food will come out with a true Creole flavor.
This is a great seasoning blend for grilling out, or for routine cooking and preparing meals. It has a wonderful blend of spices that makes your food’s flavor come alive. It is inexpensive and a nice change of pace. I highly recommend Zatarain’s Creole Seasoning to anyone who loves a little spice in their life.
