The Spring 2009 fashions for women as modeled at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week(1) in New Delhi, India, are beautiful, creative, and whimsical, embodying classic styles from this part of the world with futuristic styles for women. Manish Arora, Adarsh Gill, and Anupamaa are just a few of the hot designers whose clothing made a smash at the fashion show. Take a look at what women in India are clamoring to wear for this season:
Manish Arora stunned fashion show goers with some of the most unique clothing ever designed for women. The carousel dress looks more like a Halloween costume (where else would you wear a dress like this?) but is bright and colorful with shades of fuschia red, blue, green, and yellow. Having only one shoulder strap in a cap style, with the designer’s name at the base of the carousel, it is no wonder such a unique creation can be mistaken for an amusement park advertisement. The colorful geometric mini dress with a wrap looks perfect for the beach. A third dress with a turquoise and blue pinwheel pattern with tubal shapes extending from the waist and shoulders make this dress look very unique, something a circus performer would definitely wear. Arora’s clothes are available through the following stores in the United States: Anastasia in Laguna Beach, California; Ferris Fashion in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Lorenzo in West Hollywood, California; and Oak in Brooklyn, New York.
Adarsh Gill creates garments in the more classical India style. For example, her black and white couture suit for women is embroidered in white on the front of the pants. A colorful midriff top with a full skirt with beading and a pink sari is very feminine, perfect to wear to a party. A bright pink dress with green trim and brocade waistband from his AG2 collection is perfect for the spring and summer seasons this year with the cheerful brightness. Gill’s boutiques are located in New Delhi and Mumbai, India.
Anupamaa is another designer who sticks to classic India clothing styles for women. A white chiffon dress with a metallic and white V-neck has pinstriped sleeves and beaded fringe at the open wrists. Another pretty dress that is very spring like is a white satin with pink and green flowers covering the skirt, while the waist has a pinstripe design, and the upper bodice has a leaf pattern. An aquamarine dress with a pretty pink and yellow petal floral pattern with an ivory chiffon skirt has a shoulder strap, very light and delicate in creation. Anupamaa’s fashions are available through Indomix in New York City.
Gaurav and Ritika create dresses in every shade of white including eggshell and ivory, along with rich, jewel colors for women for the spring 2009 season. Classic silhouettes dominate garments made of sapphire blue, fuschia red, and white, whether they are knee length or floor length dresses. Gaurav and Ritika are a new fashion designer in India who will no doubt gain popularity quickly with their wearable dresses.
