Nothing says party and a good time like spring break. When you hear the words you get visions of college students with a feeling of freedom leaving the campus for 5 to 7 days of unforgettable fun.
Many college students or their parents have pets and lets face it isn’t always easy to find a pet friendly vacation spot. Well hopefully by the time we are done here you will have the information needed to plan a successful spring break with your family and those precious pets.
Let’s take a look at the top 5 suggested spots for animal lovers.
Nothing says Spring Break more than the party peninsula, Florida. Head South to Key West where you’ll find pet-friendly accommodations to fit your budget and many restaurants with outdoor dining areas so that your dog can join you for dinner. Key West also has an off-leash dog beach so that your pooch can get in some quality social time without restrain.
Russian River Valley in California. This might not be your typical Spring Break locale, but if you want to avoid the party goers, a taste of wine country might be just your speed. This area of Sonoma County offers more than just wine-tasting. There’s beach-combing, hiking in the Redwood forest and off-leash river beaches, plus the largest selection of pet-friendly lodging in the area.
For a “cooler” Spring Break spot, try Chicago. You can check out Montrose Dog Beach Where your dog can run off-leash. Chicago also has a variety of dog parks all designed for pet and owner satisfaction alike.
You won’t go wrong in artsy Austin, TX. You’ll find plenty of pet-friendly accommodations to choose from, plus a variety of dog parks and a long list of restaurants who offer patrons on four feet a seat at the outdoor tables. Head over to Town Lake to play along the beach.
Last but not least there’s Prescott, AZ. Arizona is my favorite vacation location. 1. I live here and 2. I am an avid outdoors person. Arizona has 3 different geographic zones to choose from and Prescott is in the heart of it. There are plenty of restaurants with out side dining areas where your favorite pet can join you. Do you like to camp? There are some of the most beautiful spots in the U.S in Arizona. And Prescott has a great dog park where your favorite pet can run off some energy. Most of your Public areas are leash only but there are plenty of primitive areas where your friend can be off leash.
Ok, animal lovers go out and have the best vacation of your lives; have fun with your pets and build memories that last forever.
