Regular and Decaf Coffee- In one 10 ounce cup, which is the smallest size they offer for coffee beverages, Tim Hortons’s regular and decaf coffees pack only 75 calories, 30 of which are from fat. Included in the caloric count for Tim Hortons’s regular and decaf coffees are one packet of sugar and one creamer.
Iced Cappuccino- A 12-ounce iced cappuccino at Tim Hortons with low-fat milk makes the cut at a close 180 calories, with only 15 of those calories from fat. According to Tim Hortons’s nutrition guide, if you order their small iced cappuccino, which is 10-ounces, with 2% milk, you will take in one-tenth the fat than with the 12-ounce coffee beverage. You can afford to add a five calorie flavor shot to this iced delight at Tim Hortons!
Cafe Mocha- Most mochas at other coffee chains cost you way more than 200 calories, but not Tim Hortons’s. The 10-ounce cafe mocha at Tim Hortons’s is only 160 calories, 60 from fat. The nutrition guide didn’t state whether or not that was will reduced fat milk or not; however, 2% milk is a healthy alternative no matter what coffee beverage you consume.
English Toffee Cappuccino- This 10-ounce hot coffee beverage barely goes over the 200 calorie limit of this article with 220, 50 calories being from fat. If you order the English toffee cappuccino at Tim Hortons, request low-fat milk and extra foam and voila! You will be able to satisfy your coffee craving for just under 200 calories.
Note: If you decide to order any of these drinks, take in consideration that an added flavor shot (i.e. vanilla or hazlenut) adds five calories to the total of your coffee beverage at Tim Hortons.
There is also the option of getting a steeped tea at Tim Hortons. Although it doesn’t have coffee or espresso, the steeped tea does provide enough caffeine to give you that coffee-like buzz. For a ten-ounce steeped tea (with one sugar packet and a single shot of milk), you will consume only 50 calories, 5 from fat. You might be able to ask for a custom-made chai tea, which is basically milk, tea, and honey. This drink would put you under the 200 calorie limit as well, and is a tasty alternative to plain tea or coffee. If you decide to do this, pick one of their steeped teas with hints of spice to give your Tim Horton’s beverage the full chai effect.
