Those with curly hair know that if you don’t treat it right, either out of laziness or just not knowing how, it can get quite unruly. The thing is, taking care of those curly locks is not as hard as is often perceived. In fact, there are some quick, easy looks for curly hair that will last all day and look like you spent some time styling your hair or getting it to behave.
Headbands come in many shapes, designs, and styles. A headband is a great way to accent the hair for any occasion. It;s also quick and easy. What’s so great about using headbands is that you can carry extras in your purse to quickly change from a casual look to an elegant one in no time. To achieve the headband look in curly hair, start with clean, conditioned hair. I recommend bioInfusions Olive Oil Conditioning Shampoo and bioInfusions Olive Oil Deep Conditioning Treatment. Once the hair has been cleaned, conditioned, and dried naturally (best done the night before), take some tea tree oil and apply evenly by combing through with fingers throughout the hair until no dryness is felt. Slide on a headband and go. Take a small container of tea tree oil with you for the occasional loose or dry end during the day.
The Braid Band
The braid band sounds similar to the headband, but in fact, this style will use your own hair and a couple small, black rubber bands, rather than a headband. To achieve this look, again start with hair that has been cleaned, conditioned, and allowed to naturally dry overnight. Again, apply the tea tree oil throughout the hair. Now part the hair in the middle, making an even line from the front to about the mid-section of the head. Then, take each of those sections and part according to create two ponytails. The ponytails are simply to section it off. Take out the first ponytail and braid it halfway down, leaving it hanging to the side for now. Repeat on the other side. Now take both and fasten them in the back at about the middle of the head. When you’re done, you should have two braids that look from the side to form a crown or band around the head.
For the half-bun, once again start with hair that has been cleaned, conditioned, and dried naturally overnight. Evenly apply the tea tree oil, as in the other two styles. This hair style is best for longer hair. Take all of the hair and create a high ponytail, except only wrap the ponytail holder once. Now on the second and third times, pull the hair halfway through, leaving some hanging out and some in the shape of a bun. The result should be curls hanging down all around the head.
Wash N’ Go
This is pretty self-explanatory. Start again with hair that was previously washed, conditioned, and naturally dried the night before. Now just thrown on some tea tree oil, scrunch the curls, and head out the door.
