Florida is the home of many unique fairs and festivals throughout the year. Both visitors and natives alike can spend a fun filled afternoon at one of the many annual January and February events. A day trip with the family to a regional Florida festival will cost far less than an expensive visit to a major theme park. Florida festivals and fairs offer a low cost escape from the mundane. All sections of the “Sunshine State” have something unique to offer festival patrons. Festival dates change, but are held near the same time of month annually.

January 31 -February 1, 2009 is the scheduled date for the 22nd annual Arts Fest in Stuart, Florida. The Arts Fest will feature far more than art displays. Jazz musicians, along with additional genres of sound will be performing.
The annual Repticon will be held in Orland from January 31 -February 1, 2009. Reptiles will be on display at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. Vendors, exhibits, and food are all a part of this popular annual event.
The 2009 National Art Festival will take place in Fort Lauderdale January 31 – February 1. The event showcases the detailed and intricate works of arts compiled by more than 100 artists from around the globe.
The Miami International Fair is celebrating a 16th anniversary at the event this year. Map exhibits, lectures, and appraisals will be held February 7 -February 8 at the Museum of Southern Florida.
A Festival of Treasures will be held February 7, 2009 in Plantation, Florida. On display will be scores of arts, crafts, and collectibles. A swap meet format entices many visitors. The event will feature both indoor and outdoor displays. Special activities are planed for children.
The fourth Annual African and Drumming Festival will be held in Gainesville, Florida February 11, 2009. African music will be played throughout the day. Performances will include various types of percussion instruments and vocals.
A Bluegrass Festival will be held in Palatka, Florida from February 12-14 on the banks of the St. John River. Thousands of visitors routinely attend the jam session fest, which includes impromptu dancing, and plenty of tasty foods.
The Winter Haven, Florida Greek Festival will be held February 13-15, 2009. Events scheduled include Greek dancing, cultural displays, tons of traditional Greek food, and live ethnic performances.
