It’s almost time to ring in a brand new year. In 2009, if you make New Year’s resolutions and you are a shopper, you may want to put a few of these resolutions on your resolution list! They can make your year long hectic shopping life easier, faster, cheaper and more fun. Here they are. Top ten 2009 New Year’s
resolutions for shoppers!
The first resolution that you can make is to set a money limit for how much you plan to spend, before you leave the house! Set a shopping trip budget, including groceries, clothing and adding up every expense, including getting gas, before you depart. Make the goal to spend only that much money and maybe even under, if possible. This will give you an idea of how much money you should spend. Then, you know beyond a shadow of doubt, if you exceed this amount, something went wrong or an expense was not included. You will get better at this every time you do it.
Make detailed lists of all of the items that you will be shopping for, on your shopping trip! This top ten New Year’s resolution for shoppers will help you add up the correct budget for your trip. The important thing is to remember every item and add it up, before leaving! Include any fees, gas and fast food. You will be surprised at how much you buy that is usually not on your normal shopping list.
A third good resolution for shoppers, to help make buying items cheaply, is to take advantage of coupons, newspaper offered sales and percentage off coupons. Get the store’s sale paper and read it! Use the coupons included, if you can!
My fourth shopper’s resolution is to have your friends and relatives save coupons for you that they may not use. You do the same for them. Then, each month or two, meet, mail and swap out these coupons. Start a swap coupon ring and keep it going around. Every little bit helps!
A great shoppers resolution to make is to find out when certain stores that you frequently shop in have cents off days or special days during the week that products are marked a certain percentage off. They may have senior discount days or such times and it would wise to go then.
Another shopper’s resolution can be to make the shopping trip more fun! Plan a lunch afterwards, before or during, with a friend or relative that you do not see often enough! Have an hour or so set aside to enjoy each other and catch up!
One important shopper resolution you may want to make, if you have kids, is to find a friend to keep them while you shop! Then, you can return this favor! That way, you both get a day free from children to shop and do important things that need to be done. If you exchange this great resolution, it can be free and fun! You will be helping one another in return.
My seventh top ten 2009 New Year’s resolutions for shoppers is to wear comfortable shoes and clothing while shopping! Comfort does not mean not looking your best. It means that you want to wear comfortable shoes when having to walk a lot! Wear comfortable pants and a nice shirt that feels great. A nice dress is fine, also. Wear clothes that you love to move in and move well in. That resolution will help you enjoy your shopping more! You look better when you feel comfortable and at ease.
The next shoppers New Year’s resolution that you should make is to allow plenty of time to do all of the things on your list. Do not try to hurry too much or you will probably forget items or overlook specials and sales! It is dangerous to over burden your time, as this makes you stressed and more likely to have an accident. Divide the lists into two separate days, if they are too long.
My ninth top ten 2009 New Year’s resolutions for shoppers is to make a promise to take advantage of buy one get one free sales. You can’t beat these bargains! Even if it is not your usual brand, this offer makes it a perfect time to try out a new product.
The tenth top ten New Year’s shoppers resolution to make is to take advantage of the buy four products for four dollars and deals like that. I have discovered some great products this way! If you have a big family, these deals truly save money.
These top ten 2009 New Year’s resolutions for shoppers are very easy to do. They save time, money, are more fun and are certainly worth a try! Now for an added bonus, here are some extra resolutions for shoppers. Remember, there are no stop lights in a grocery store. People are going to run a buggy or shopping cart into you by accident and you will do the same. Always smile and say that you are sorry, even if it is not your fault! There are disabled shoppers everywhere and if you can, offer them help or at least a smile. Do not curse at the person with fifteen items in the ten items or less line. Sometimes, the cashier has invited them there because the line has been empty for a while. You never know. Do not play the game “kill to get the closest parking space” as it is rude, dangerous and well, if you need the exercise, just park a ways away and walk. It is not worth four drives up and down the parking lot or a rise in your blood pressure when someone beats you to a perfect parking space. Alrighty, then. Have a happy New Year!
