If you really want to surprise the special lady in your life this Valentine’s Day, you’ve got to be a little more creative than just giving her a jewelry box or dozen roses. Here are a few fun ideas for “faux” gifts that hide the really special things you’re really giving inside:
Teddy Bear – Find one of those adorable backpacks that look like a teddy bear and cut off the straps. Now you can fill her fake teddy bear up with a variety of great gifts. I would recommend putting some item of clothing, like a sexy pair of silky PJs, inside to make the bear look more like he’s full of stuffing. Other small gifts that you could hide inside would be her favorite chick flick on DVD, a CD of romantic songs, some comfy chenille socks, scented body oils, a book she’s been wanting to read, bubble bath, and a small container of her favorite chocolates. You could also tie a pink or red ribbon around the bear’s neck to make him look more festive.
Box of Chocolates – Buy a heart-shaped Valentine’s Day box of chocolates and remove the chocolates and plastic separator from inside of it (but don’t throw the chocolate away!) Now you have a box that’s perfect for hiding some special jewelry inside of. I would recommend getting her a string of chocolate pearls, which are absolutely decadent and gorgeous and fit in perfectly with the candy theme. You could also fit an itsy bitsy bit of lingerie inside, and spend a fun-filled night sharing the chocolate you removed from the box together to get yourselves in the mood to indulge in another guilty pleasure.
A Dozen Roses – Purchase a very large, pretty decorative vase from a craft store like Hobby Lobby, but make sure you get one that’s not see-through. Also buy a dozen or half-dozen fake red roses to fill the vase with. In the bottom of the vase, you can place a small bottle of her favorite perfume (depending on how the bottle is shaped, of course), a necklace that features her birthstone (to show her you remembered Valentine’s Day and her birthday), a digital photo key chain with pictures you have selected on it, and any other small gifts you think she might like. Now just fill the vase with the fake roses and enjoy the look on her face when she thinks that’s all you got her.
So have fun on Valentine’s Day by fooling your lover with these great gift ideas that remind her that you can’t always judge a book by its cover, and no matter how much of a manly front you put on, you really do love her.
