Valentine’s Day is a day to show that someone special in your life that you love them, and not to give in to commercial temptation you can do this very simply without going over budget. Your special someone is waiting for that little gesture from you so they can pop out with their gift for you. Hopefully this is the case and after 34 years of marriage I know my man loves me. He can give me a warm kiss in the morning before work or he can ask me to take off his socks when he gets home. I will still love him and show him my affection. In the smallest of ways we show each other we are still in love.
Once we took a short train trip about an hour away from our home. The train had a dining car where we had a glass of wine and watched out the large viewing windows at the passing scenery of our country side. We reached our destination of Old Sac. (Old town Sacramento), California, where we ate lunch at his favorite place, Fanny Anne’s. They have the best Hamburgers and cold brew. The old town square has old fashioned places to browse and shop these are my favorite places to go. Our train left to take us back home after a short 3 hours of, eating, shopping and browsing. We boarded and headed back to where we started in Lodi, Ca. When we got off the train we drove to our favorite Mexican diner to eat dinner. It was a nice day and we spent about $100.
My Brother in-law’s Birthday is Valentine’s Day and we’ve shared some really nice dinners with Him, my sister and their two boys. Evenings that we spent with them are priceless. I have also made my Husband many Valentine Dinners at home. I usually ask him to choose what he’d like to eat. I am lucky he is not picky and he usually loves anything I make. To top off a great meal there is always the heart shaped cake pan that can be personalized and made to order. Always a favorite.

Feeling loved on Valentine’s Day
I asked my husband what he would like this year for Valentine’s Day and he said he’d think about it. He was snuggled in bed and half asleep so I imagined giving him lots of warm hugs. Hugs are hard to come by sometimes unless you have a big teddy bear or if you are a Teacher you get them every time you walk in the room. I hope you get hugs today and on Valentine’s Day.
