Near the end of the game, you get to face off against the Lupus tank boss once again in the Chapter 17: The Bridge to Hope mission of Valkyria Chronicles. This time, however, your team will be cornered against almost impossible odds. Here are some tips to help you get rid of the Lupus Armor once and for all in the Chapter 17: The Bridge to Hope mission of Valkyria Chronicles.
Beef up your lancers as much as possible by leveling them up and increasing their anti-armor shell damage. You need them to be effective or you will be in for a tough time in this boss battle.
The Empire’s secret weapon, the Marmota, is making a beeline towards Gallia’s capital. In an attempt to catch up to it, your squad ran into an enemy blockade at the Great Vasel Bridge. You must get past the Lupus Armor first before you can enter the capital.
– Defeat General Jaeger and the Lupus Armor
– 20 turns passed
– Welkin dies
– The Gallia’s base camp is captured
Like previous boss fights, include Largo, Rosie and Alicia in your squad for extra CPs. Add in two engineers and at least one more shocktrooper. You can leave the rest of the spots open so that you can call in reinforcements later. Place one engineer close to your main tank, the Edelweiss. Have the rest of your squad stay as close to the west as possible.
This isn’t the same boss you fight before earlier in Valkyria Chronicles. The Lupus tank comes with an armor plate that must be first broken before you can begin damaging the tank. The armor itself can absorb about plenty of damage even against anti-shell missiles.
To make maters worse, he will automatically recover it health fully every time he enters his own camp. Finally, he can issue orders to boost up the stats of his minions. Add in the fact that you also have to deal with his relentless minions and reinforcements and the Chapter 17: The Bridge to Hope mission is the hardest one yet in Valkyria Chronicles.
Protecting the Edelweiss
Your main tank is immediately in the line of fire. Thus, you must spend some of your precious CPs in the first turn to move it backwards and around the corner of the building in order to hide it from enemy fire.
The Southwest Enemy Base
You want to occupy the enemy base to the southwest in your first turn as soon as possible. So rush west with Alicia and your shocktroopers. Afterwards, call in two lancer reinforcements from the camp you just captured. Use the remaining CPs on maneuvering Largo and an engineer to the west as a group (this can also be done in the second round). If you are having trouble doing this in one round, try to spend some time leveling up your scouts and shocktroopers.
Destroying the Armor Plating
The Lupus Armor will wonder into the area you just occupied during its turn. Use this to your advantage to start sending anti-tank missiles into it with Largo and your other lancers. Keep in mind that the boss has a machine gun turret that will hit anyone close by. So watch your health accordingly.
Destroying the Lupus Armor
After destroying the armor plate, the core of the Lupus will be exposed. Send two anti-shells missiles into it to end the boss fight. By that time, you should be around your third turn and may have suffered from some heavy casualties. You will be fine as long as you have at least one lancer standing, however.
If you are still having trouble defeating the Lupus Armor boss in the Chapter 17: The Bridge to Hope mission of Valkyria Chronicles, you can switch up and experiment on your tactics a little bit to cater to your squad. Just keep in mind that you should take out the boss as soon as possible when it enters the southwest area to save yourself from an otherwise long and frustrating battle.
Hopefully, these tips will help you defeat the Lupus Armor boss and conquer the Chapter 17: The Bridge to Hope mission of Valkyria Chronicles.
