Wondering what race Jon Gosselin is? He looks like he can be a number of ethnicities, especially with the green eyes. Jon Gosselin is half Asian, half “white.” Or, to be more specific, Jon Gosselin, age 32, is of Korean, Irish and French descent, according to IMDB. However, on one particular episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8, the subject of Jon Gosselin’s race came up. And if my memory serves me correctly, his mother is 100 percent Korean, and the European side is all from his father, i.e., there is no “white” in his mother.
Some people have wondered if Jon Gosselin is Hawaiian. His mother was born and raised in Hawaii, but is of Korean descent. Is there really a Hawaiin race anyways? After all, Hawaii has inhabitants representing all ethnicities: Chinese, Japanese, Portugese, South America, Europe and the South Seas. Many so-called Hawaiians are a mixture of these backgrounds.
A true South Pacific islander, or Polynesian, has deep olive skin, thick dark hair, and almond eyes, i.e., eyes that look only a little bit Asian. I once vacationed in Hawaii and opened a phone book there, and just about every ethnic name is represented: Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Latino, Indian, German, Polish, you name it. Anyways, back to Jon Gosselin. His Korean heritage shows up strongly in his kids, which is very intriguing because they, though being only one-fourth Asian, look more Asian than many half-Asians I’ve seen.
You’ll note that some of the sextuplets, however, do not have raven black hair. Alexis, for instance, actually has dark brown hair. Nevertheless, it’s interesting that all eight kids turned out to look predominantly Oriental, even though, according to how genetics work, it’s possible that some of them could have turned out looking more Caucasian. What’s really intriguing to wonder about is what the children of Jon & Kate’s kids will look like, if they mate with 100 percent Caucasians.
Will Jon & Kate’s grandkids have any Asian features or hint of Asian features at all? That’s possible, because I once saw the photo of a white man’s great grandchild, the child being one-eighth Japanese. There was a subtle indication in his eyes of his Oriental heritage.
You might be wondering, “Who cares about Jon Gosselin’s race?” Well, YOU must care because YOU clicked on my article and read it! Lighten up. While everyone else is writing about Jon & Kate’s alleged affairs and Kate’s narcissism, I decided to write about a much less-covered topic: What race is Jon Gosselin.
