So, you’ve been playing the MySpace application game Fashion Wars, and you reached level 30 – a long time ago. At level 30, two new events appeared; Record Platinum Album and Vegas Blowout Party. Among other requirements, these events require 27 and 35 Britney Mini Dresses respectively. The only problem is you can’t buy a mini dress. They are nowhere to be found when you shop for items. What gives?
No, the Britney Mini Dress isn’t a rare item dropped during events. It’s an actual dress that you must buy before doing these events. According to Zynga Game Network, the company who developed Fashion Wars for MySpace and Facebook, the mini dress isn’t even available until level 35. It’s not a glitch. The game was designed that way. The event on level 35 with the yoga pants is the same way, because you can’t purchase yoga pants until level 40. Strange, considering it’s a rather boring game with very few updates compared to other games created by Zynga, such as Mafia Wars, which seems to have new updates and improvements every couple of weeks.
Whether the Britney Mini Dress and the yoga pants were made unavailable to keep people from leveling up quickly on purpose is unknown; there are several confirmed glitches in other MySpace application games that can frustrate even the most veteran gamer.
For instance, in Mafia Wars, and Prison Lock Down, there are several special items that require a few new posse and mafia members before you can acquire the limited edition item. How many times have you finally achieved the correct number of mafia members in Mafia Wars only to find that when you go to grab your new item, the requirement has gone up by 2 or 3 more members? This seems like the ultimate scam, especially since new members equal more money for the developers, but according to Zynga, this is a known glitch.
This glitch happens when you try to get the police badge, the ambulance, or any of the limited edition loot in Mafia Wars, as well as Mandy’s Luxury Pet Boutique and the Delicious Winter White Coat currently up for grabs in Fashion Wars.
This specific glitch also happens in the games Pirates, Vampires, Dragon Wars, and most other games designed by Zynga.
Most people don’t search deep enough to find Zynga’s actual website, so instead their concerns are treated to glib, in-character updates that joke about the glitches, rather than explaining what’s really going on, and when they expect to have it fixed.
