The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, Inc. is a non profit organization that rescues and takes care of Texas area Greyhounds, especially greyhounds that have been in the racing industry and are retired or injured. As a volunteer, you can help prepare animals to go to their forever home (socialize and love them), administrative duties (paperwork, etc), public relations (informing the public about greyhounds, spaying & neutering, etc), transporting and/or picking up within a 200 mile range, working on the GALT website, assisting with greyhounds at one of the Kennels GALT has access to, help prepare the newsletter, etc. The Greyhound Adoption League also takes teen volunteers. You have to be at least 13 years old and teens 13 – 16 have to be with an adult volunteer. Volunteers are required to attend an orientation yearly to be informed of the latest information. If you have a strong interesting aviation, history or just simply want to help out a local non profit organization in your town, you may want to think about volunteering with the Museum. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old or older and have a high school education. You will need to attend an orientation before volunteering. After orientation, you’ll be considered a temporary volunteer until you’re volunteered for 30 hours at the museum. Volunteers help patrons who come to the museum by telling them about exhibits, directing them to areas they want to see, greet patrons to the museum, lead tours and help fulfill any special needs guests may have. Do you have an interest in the arts? If you do, The Water Tower Theatre wants you as a volunteer. Volunteers can work in almost any area that interests them.
