– Jigsaw or other tool to cut the craft wood
– Medium grit sandpaper
– Tack cloth or other soft cloth
– Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White
– Krylon Make It Stone Metallic Textured Paint in Silver
– Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Finishing Spray
– Elmer’s white glue
– Sponge brush
– Small bowl
– Wood mounted snowflake rubber stamp
– Blue glitter embossing powder
– Heat set tool
– One inch wide blue organza ribbon
Cover your work area in a few sheets of old newspaper prior to starting this project. Lay a large sheet of 1/2 inch thick craft wood flat on your workspace. Using a pencil and ruler, create several five inch square shapes on the wood. With a jigsaw or other tool cut out the square shapes. Gently sand the wood with medium grit sandpaper. Wipe away any dust created by the sanding process with a tack cloth or other soft cloth.
Lay each of the squares out flat on the work area. Spray the craft wood with an even coat of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White. Dry for an hour. Spray each coaster with an even layer of Krylon Make It Stone Metallic Textured Paint in Silver. Let the paint dry for three or four hours. Add a second coat if needed.
Mix two parts Elmer’s white glue to one part water in a small bowl. With a sponge brush, coat the stamp side of a wood mounted snowflake rubber stamp. Press the stamp into the center of one coaster. Immediately sprinkle with a liberal amount of blue glitter embossing powder. Shake off the excess. Heat set with a heat embossing tool. Repeat with the remaining coasters. Cool completely.
Spray each of the coasters with a thick coat of Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Finishing Spray. Wait an hour before adding a second coat. Continue this process of painting and drying for a total of seven to eight coats. Dry overnight.
Cut a length of one inch wide blue organza ribbon. Stack the coasters on top of the ribbon and then on top of each other. Secure the coaster stack with a bow and your snowflake embossed coaster set is now ready for giving!
