X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailers have finally made it to theaters as well as being officially released on the internet. Debuting in front of The Day the Earth Stood Still this past weekend, the spin-off from the X-Men films has seen its trailer gain mass appeal across the internet. This is not a surprise, as fans of the X-Men franchise have been excited about Wolverine hitting theaters for some time now, and the appeal of lead character Hugh Jackman has made this one a hot commodity for the coming months. With an expected release date in the beginning of May, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is expected to be a box office smash when it does come out.
Wolverine is the first branch-off story from the creators of X-Men, which had three films released to theaters in recent years. The most recent one, X-Men 3: The Final Stand made a lot of money, and insured that the ideal of making some prequels to the series would be an exciting endeavor to take on. So the production began on a film that would introduce the character of Wolverine from the very beginning, and show where the dark and brooding super-hero was sent on his current path, and exactly how he ended up being a participant in a military experiment. The film will reveal many of the secrets to his past, and allow fans another journey into the psyche of one of the most popular characters in the X-Men stable.
Returning as the main character Wolverine will be Hugh Jackman, who also played the role in the first three live-action X-Men films. The film is directed by Gavin Hood, and also stars Ryan Reynolds and Liev Schreiber just to name a few of the actors. Character appearing that have been seen in the comic books include Deadpool, Sabretooth, Beak, Silver Fox, Agent Zero, The Blob, and Gambit, as well as a younger version of William Stryker. The new influx of characters that not many new-age fans know about should give the franchise another boost, and including such eye-candy as Ryan Reynolds is sure to make this testosterone filled action film a little more pleasant for the female audience members.
There is a lot hanging on the success of this film, and if Wolverine does bring in a lot of money at the box office, it will green light other feature films in the origins line of thinking, including an idea that would star Magneto. Making this movie was a really smart idea by the production teams, and it should bring in a lot of money when it does come out. Those looking forward to Wolverine will enjoy a darker side of the character with a lot of action, and what looks to be a really exciting story about where this character has come from, and where he might be heading.
